When did you start doing CrossFit?
I tried my first class in the Summer 2014 but did not become a regular until Canandaigua CrossFit in Fall 2015
What is your favorite CrossFit Movement and Why?
Thruster, because I am terrible at them and they absolutely destroy me, which I guess only makes me better.
What is your least favorite CrossFit movement and why?
The Jerk; I just can’t seem to do it right, so it’s frustrating. I will get it someday.
What is your sport, health or fitness background?
I played some sports in high school but mainly needed to work on the farm. I have a doctorate in Pharmacy with plenty of coursework in human anatomy, physiology, and nutrition.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD, what was it and how did it feel?
I always did something like P90X, but heard about CrossFit and wanted to try it out. My first WOD was not even at a certified CrossFit facility and not structured well but it was still fun. It kicked my ass for sure.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CrossFit? (Before and After)
My overall aerobic capacity and flat out endurance has improved pretty substantially. I have gotten stronger overall, especially in my legs.

Murph is always fun.
Do you have any advice for people who are just getting started?
Just keep showing up no matter what and eventually you will wake up saying I can’t wait to go to CrossFit today. If you’re like me, you will be mad when you do have to miss a day.
Outside of CrossFit what other hobbies and/or talents do you have?
I don’t really have any talent to note, but I do really love bowhunting and am very passionate about it. I also enjoy most anything outdoors, hiking, fishing, camping, skiing, and spending time on the lake.
